Story includes the ability to group multiple products into one product. The result is beautiful product detail pages that include swatches with images that represent each variant option. Clicking on a swatch, displays only the images associated to that variant option and also the product details and prices for the variant:

Each sibling is an individual product. Using custom metafields, Story will connect these products together and auto generate the swatch images.
